What does a typical 50 minute session look like when working with college students? Each session begins with a check in since last meeting- both academically, social emotional, and wellness.

Academic

  • Go over any new grades that have been entered by professor
  • Determine work assigned for the week
  • Dates of new tests, quizzes, papers, or projects
  • Set up assignments in a google doc shared with me or a personal planner with a screenshot to me
  • Use time to go over study habits being used that week
  • Make sure students are meeting with professors weekly especially in difficult classes –
  • Work on homework that needs to completed that day or upcoming test or quiz
  • Write a paper and/or edit

Social-Emotional

  • How they are feeling overall- anything that is causing issues
  • What activities have they participated in- with friends, clubs, etc. Plans for upcoming weekend

Health/Wellness

  • Meds if taking
  • Diet
  • Sleep
  • Exersize
  • Room organization and laundry
  • Shopping

Overall, the sessions are a time for the student to be held accountable for their actions, as well as, feel supported by me as we work together.
